Bridal Bazaar Weekend

Hello everyone! It's time for the Weekend Highlights!

First of all, I just want to say that I am super ecstatic that some of you guys are joining me in this link up, so thank you! I am so glad that I started this because I am really enjoying my weekends away from blogging and spending time with my family and friends. By doing it this way, I feel all refreshed and ready to blog on Mondays, and just so excited to tell you guys about what I did on my weekend. So here we go:

≡1≡ I bought this mirrored wall decoration from HomeGoods.

I am so into mirrored stuff right now! Don't you just love window shopping? I do, especially if it's a house/furniture store like Pier 1 Imports, Bed Bath & Beyond, HomeGoods, etc. I could look around the store, and imagine decorating our house with the beautiful things I find in the store! I could walk around and window shop for HOURS!

≡2≡ I saw this notebook while window shopping, and I really wanted to get it. It said "Let all you do be done in love." Love it! Maybe I will go back for it. What an excuse to go back and window shop some more hahaha!

≡3≡  We ate at Crab Hut, one of my favorite restaurants! OMG, it's so delicious. If you are ever near Kearny Mesa, CA, you gotta stop by and get a grub. My mouth is watering as I type this!

≡4≡ OK, so I started the process to moving to Wordpress. I finally bought my domain! Now, onto actually creating the site!

≡5≡ We watched Frozen in the movie theater! Say whaat?? You have a baby and you went to see a movie in the theater?! Yup. My baby is ah-mazing hehe. She didn't even cry :) Frozen is Maylee's first movie ♥

≡6≡ After church on Sunday, Terry dropped me off to Cafe 21 to meet the ladies for brunch.

Then...

≡7≡  The girls and I rode the trolley(except Emily, because she had to go). We went to the San Diego Convention Center for the Bridal Bazaar.

I have four friends that are getting married this year, Michelle & RJ, and Cassandra & Tom.

Going to the Bridal Bazaar is such a good prelude to my Wedding Series, which, by the way, starts this week! All the wedding dresses and wedding vendors I saw this Sunday have set up the right mood for me to write all about our wedding. I am feeling all lovey-dovey and so ready to go! Here are some pictures of our trolley trip:

I got the flower from one of the vendors at Bridal Bazaar. Did you know that which ear you put the flower on matters? Right ear means you are single(and ready to mingle). Left ear means you are taken!

FOOTBALL AND BEER PONG WEEKEND

Welcome to Weekend Highlights! I know Weekend Highlights is usually on Mondays but since this weekend was a long weekend, due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I decided to hold on and post about my weekend today.

First of, I would like to mention that Maylee and I walked around Lake Murray with my friend Emilie and her baby Annabelle. This is my first time walking around using the baby carrier we got like two weeks ago. I didn't really like it because it doesn't have paddings for my shoulder. It made my shoulder a bit sore because it didn't have a strap around the waist--all the weight is being supported by the shoulder. Basically, I don't think it is meant for long walks haha. I should probably get a different one.

Saturday was a stay-at-home day for my family. We just watched a marathon of Sandra Bullock movies including:
Sunday was a really busy day. We watched the Patriots vs. Broncos at Buffalo Wild Wings with some friends. Then we went to a friend's house for the 49ers vs. Seahawks game and played some beer pong there. It's been awhile since I last played beer pong but we(my husband and I were team mates) won the game. Not bad for being rusty!

We met our friends Jessica and Ben for dinner at Olive Garden. I had Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo and tried some new wine with it. We probably should've gotten that bottle of wine...What was I thinking??

On Monday, we had dinner at some friends' house and ate some homemade tacos. Delicious! Then we had some apple pie a la mode for dessert. Best way to end the long weekend, I say.

That's it for my weekend, friends. I can't wait to read about everyone else's weekends!

Weekend Highlights!

Good morning everyone! I know it's Monday and they say there's nothing pretty about Monday mornings, but it doesn't have to be. For some, Mondays mean that you go back to work--and hating it. But for me, Mondays mean Weekend Highlights! I get to share with you all what happened on my weekend.

I really loved  this weekend because we spent some family time. We didn't hang out with any friends. While I enjoy having friends around, I have been wanting some family time--just Terry, Maylee and me time. Let me break down for you what happened Saturday and Sunday.

 ≡SATURDAY≡
On Saturday, we went to a Navy Federal housing seminar and talked about loans and such. This is our first step to getting a house of our own. I am super excited to actually get the ball rolling to owning a house!

After the seminar, we went to Corner Bakery Cafe for luch. I had a tuna salad sandwich, and zesty chicken tortilla soup. I was looking for their spicy thai soup but they haven't had it in awhile haha I guesss it's been so long since I last ate in Corner Bakery! Nevertheless, what I had was delicious! See:
Maylee rolled over to her tummy for the first time :)

I started printing out my 2014 Planner. I'm putting together my own planner to fit my needs. I ordered the binder I want to use online, so I'm waiting on that. More about this later, once the order comes in :) I'm so excited for this planner!!

≡SUNDAY≡
Sunday was church day. I think The Rock is really becoming our church. I really enjoy listening to Pastor Miles preach. He really grabs your attention when he speaks. This Sunday, he asked us to kneel on the floor while praying. When was the last time you kneeled to pray? It's been while for me.

"It ain't about you Mo!"

This is a picture of a small part of our church wall. I wanted to share it with all of you.

After church, we went to a Mexican restaurant. The place is bigger than most Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. In fact, a lot of them hardly have any seating. They have some pretty murals like in this picture:

Carne Asada Fries! The bomb!

Without further ado, let's talk about what happened this weekend!

Maylee's first morning playtime in her Bright Starts Safari Activity Gym. She loves it! She is discovering what her hands can do. She kept wiggling and playing with the toys, not to mention that she won't let go of that purple ring! I'm such a lucky mama to be witnessing this child grow ♥

This past Saturday was my cousin's son Brandon's first birthday! How perfect is that? I'm talking about his first birthday on the first Weekend Highlights post hehe :) He's grown so much. He's such a big boy now! I didn't take a lot of pictures but the birthday was carnival theme.

Maylee was so tired from the long day, so we put her to sleep. Finally! Some mommy and daddy alone time! What did we do, you say? We watched Turbo and drank some wine. Definitely the perfect combination right there. Oh my goodness, the things we do now that we are parents hahaha

Sunday was BBQ night, hosted by my dear friend Emily(she's the one all the way to the right at the group picture). It was a great night. We played some card games and shot some pool. And yes, I drank some wine again hehe. I promise, I am not alcoholic =P

Left to right in group picture: Jessica, baby Maylee, Cassandra, me, and Emily.
≡1≡ Colorful wine glass. Love ♥
≡2≡ With my sister from another mother, Cassandra
≡3≡ Cards Against Humanity, anyone? If you haven't played this card game, I don't know if we can stay friends. I'm kidding, but for real though, you are missing out!
≡4≡ With my girl friends! I'm so glad I got to see Jessica and Emily again. It's been too long!

PARTIES PARTIES PARTIES

This past weekend, Terry and I went to three parties. That's one of the things I love about Christmastime. There's always a party of some sort going on!

≡1≡ The first one was a lunch party with coworkers PLUS a White Elephant Gift Exchange. Never have I heard of this kind of gift exchange. It was actually a lot of fun! I looked more into it and I guess there are different variations of this gift exchange. But the one we played was a pretty simple one.

Basically, each person that wanted to be a part of the gift exchange brought one wrapped gift, which was then placed in a pile in the center. We were each given a number to determine who picks a gift first. At the end of the game, everyone ends up with a gift on their hands. But what makes it a lot of fun is that the next person to pick gets to steal an opened gift from anybody, if they would like. Then the person who got their gift stolen can either pick a gift from the pile or steal somebody else's(limit of two steals per gift).

The gift exchange was very entertaining because it keeps you on the edge of your seat, hoping that nobody steals the gift out of your hands, especially if it's a good one. The first gift we picked(stocking stuffers) was stolen from us, and we ended up with this Houdini Wine Shower & Decanter Set, which I think is so much better anyway! haha It worked out in the end!
≡2≡ My friends Rachael and Michelle hosted an Ugly Sweater Party. I don't have a lot of pictures to show you guys because I couldn't find my camera battery charger. Sad face. So I had to use my phone. I'm hoping for the girls to post some pictures from the party so I can show you guys.

My crafty friends made this picture booth I think is amazing!
Terry stealing a kiss.
Us kissing under the mistletoe. This was harder than it looks. I had to tiptoe to get a kiss. I almost wanted to say F it!

Gixxer, Jax, and Zoey posing for the camera in their ugly sweaters. (Gixxer took his off coz he's getting too hot.)

≡3≡ We went to Chief Anderson's going-away party. It's always nice to see people I don't see often. My friend Casey was at the party and she gave me this adorable gift basket. LOVE LOVE LOVE that I have some really crafty friends! Check out some pictures of the awesomeness!

The basket was filled with awesomeness but my favorite would be this owl mug. Who would've thought, right? It's not like owls are my shizz. Cough. What I really love about it though, is that she wrote me a note about my blog. That's is so sweet! I'm so lucky to have supportive friends ♥

Alright guys, you know, the more and more I post about my weekend happenings, the more and more excited I am about Weekend Highlights! Don't forget! The first one is going to be on January 6th Midnight PST.

Missed that post? You can read about it here.

I will be posting a link up so be sure to have your post about your weekend ready. I'm so excited about this that I just wanna move it closer haha but I gotta stick with the plan. Stick with the plan.

By the way, I am looking for co-hosts. Email me if you are interested.
